I'm always getting asked how to make a seamless loop and there are many different answers depending on the project and I have covered a lot of them in other tutorials. But here is a method that allows you to loop anything regardless of what it is or how it was originated. Halation is the film artefact where light leaks into the red layer to create a subtle red glow and in this tutorial we will look at two methods for recreating that in Apple Motion. How to Make a Difference in Apple Motion
Nice. Love to see a version where it hits just plain water.
Love this. Thanks Simon.
You are the man! thank you!
Looks Great!!
Do you have the super-thanks button here on RUclips ? Would like to support your amazing channel.
Soooo nice, Simon! Thank you!
Excellent. Many thanks Simon.
splat!
I gotta make this one. ❤
Very cool
Simon, Simon, I ask you the same question @mtamech535 asked. You just wake up with an awesome idea and boom!! You are brilliant!! Thank you another time!
Fantastic and inspirational effect Simon, well done!
Simon, where do you get these types of ideas? Do they come to you or do you just play with settings until it comes? I love this!
Very Nice, Thank You Simon !
Amazing, you make me want to get better at motion. I have a request for a future tutorial. I had an idea of a word slamming onto the screen and when it hits makes a multicolor paint splatter, along with a shake effect, I tried for hours and gave up! Thanks for all the content!
Thank you. And I like your tutorial idea - I will put it on the list of things to think about.
Here's a test for a paint splat effect along the lines you are talking about: drive.google.com/file/d/1Cj-WuU8he3VfUh0E7y9iE61RVKYSW-b4/view?usp=sharing

Oh yes, very useful! Thank You!
This is exactly what i have been working on recently! Iv been make a choose yiur own adventure social media game using motion lol. Its been hard to find tutorials im hapoy to find this!
Such a great Tutorial for under 15 mins. Learnt a lot 🙏
Could you use this method to create a zoetrope animation or at least something that looks like it?
One could certainly adapt the basic concept but there would be quite a bit more to do to get the real effect. Might be worth a tutorial ...
Congrats Simon, very creative and beautiful
One of my greatest frustrations is that you can’t tell the replicator to sequentially place sources without repeats. Often I want the animate in to start in the center for example, but there is no way to do it without repeats. Being limited to by row and column really limits the animation. There should be a sequential source checkbox that would solve this issue.
I wonder if it is possible to create a lenticular effect in apple motion or Davinci.R.
Yes, it is possible and indeed I have made such an effect. I will put it on the list of tutorials to do.
currently i have not succeeded yet. i am looking forward to it. thank you for your response
Amazing and inspiring work as always ..thanks
Just your oscillate is based on 60 seconds explanation alone is super use-full!
Great practical tip, thank you!
When you give it away for free…I know it’s out of love that you do this. Not necessarily for the next person (not that you don’t), but for the love of creation. I give all of my woodworking plans away for free because I love doing it so much that the next big adventure is worth more than the cash that could be made. I hope that means something…but I see your passion and it is great. Thank you again and again.
Nice one! Thank you Simon.
This is next level Simon. You have the vision and capabilities that most don’t.
That's very kind of you. Don't forget to check out the free template of this project (for Final Cut): ruclips.net/video/F5-nW6uMyqo/видео.html
@@SimonUbsdell kind of “me”? You’re freaking Santa Clause! Thanks for all you do Simon.
This is incredible!!!
Thanks. If you liked that, you will probably also like this one which uses video instead of just stills: ruclips.net/video/ThFOZfLPqCI/видео.html
@@SimonUbsdell yes, I would love that! Watching now!!
Great, thanks Simon!
So, what is that growling? Is that a demon? Is this demolition happening under the power of unseen forces and black magic manipulations of the fabric of spacetime? Because if it is, a heads-up might have been nice.
Is "demolition? a portmanteau of "demonic volition"?
Thanks !
Great job, Simon! Thank you. Apple Motion becomes Apple Still&Motion. Actually, sometimes it's faster and more comfortable for me to edit or to compose in Motion instead of Photoshop. Wish they (Apple) released a huge, epic and dramatically reinvented vector (and 3D) graphics update to replace AI (C4D or Blender) in a routine 😄😄😄
Awesome!
I got frustrated working with motion5 because I could get a developer help me with how they used a clone for a video wall. So I wouldn’t have the problem of the images not looking sharp. I had gotten to the point with my image. Where a cell on the image wall would have a video come out of the image wall, play then continue with the presentation. Again my problem with still images in the presentation would be the image would look soft. Not a good look for a photographer.
That sounds very frustrating. Unfortunately I can't give you any useful tips for this without seeing your entire project set-up because there could be many different reasons for it.
Simon it’s alway great to see the scope of your knowledge on FCPX & Motion5.
Thank You Simon !
This totally saved the day.
Good to hear. Just a quick note to say that the bug that I mention in this tutorial has been fixed which makes this method even more useful now.
@@SimonUbsdell Good to know. I have a problem now, though, where I've used it in a File Text Generator that I'm using with a Replicator and Motion is just constantly crashing out. I've just about got the effect I want, and if I don't try to tweak anything it'll let me bounce it, but if I so much as think about nudging a parameter, I end up instantly regretting it. :(
@@danluba_english Ouch, that's bad news. Make sure to submit feedback to Apple because it may well be something that's still a bit flaky.
Very, very useful! Thank you so much Simon!
That is very cool!
This is just awesome!
Good morning "Prolific" Mr Ubsdell. You are to Motion 5 what Sonduckfilm is to After Effects, "A Creative Genius". When are you coming up with YB Nodes, Motype and Mosaic types of effects? How would you approach something like that? I wonder. You have a G'Day Mate! Cheers.
Lots of ideas come up with this one THX 4 the vid.
Nice way. Thank you so much, Simon. It’s pretty good for short ad animation clips 👍👍👍
Now I want a wall of monitors! Thanks Simon.
